Renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has opened up about a shocking incident from 2021, accusing her former management of attempting to sabotage her ministry. The singer took to Instagram on Monday to recount how her scheduled ministration at Rev. Felix Omobude’s Gospel Light International Ministries was abruptly cancelled by her previous team.
Chinwo explained that despite the cancellation, she remained determined to fulfill her commitment and traveled to the church. However, upon her arrival at the airport, she was confronted with an unexpected and unsettling situation.
“Glory be to God! This video is from October 2021,” she wrote. “I was scheduled to minister at Rev. Felix Omobude’s church, but my previous management cancelled my participation. Despite that, I fought to attend, and by God’s grace, He made a way. When I arrived at the airport, I was greeted by a medical team. They explained that they had been informed I was gravely ill and battling a terminal health condition.”
The singer described how this false information caused her significant emotional and mental distress. “It was incredibly painful, and the mental strain was intense,” she said. “But the Lord healed my heart and gave me peace. This is just one of many experiences. To Him alone be all the glory!”
The ongoing conflict between Chinwo and her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, owned by Ezekiel Onyedikachi, also known as EeZee Tee, has been a topic of public interest. Reports suggest that the rift began in 2019 when EeZee allegedly attempted to extend Chinwo’s five-year contract to 12 years, which she declined.
A statement from Chinwo’s lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, shed light on the alleged mistreatment. “Eezee Tee continued to intimidate her, isolating and bullying her, misleading people inviting her for events about her availability,” the statement partly read.
The singer’s revelations have drawn support from fans and followers who admire her courage and resilience in the face of adversity.
