Our Commitment to Accuracy
HolySpiritEncounters.com aims to publish accurate, responsible, and reliable content about Christian faith, biblical teachings, prayer, worship, spiritual growth, and related topics.
Although we take reasonable steps to check our content before publication, errors and omissions can occasionally occur. We believe that acknowledging and correcting material mistakes is an important part of maintaining readers’ trust.
This Corrections Policy explains how we review reported errors, make changes to published articles, and communicate significant corrections to our readers.
Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Minor corrections include typographical errors, spelling mistakes, grammatical issues, formatting problems, broken links, and other changes that do not materially affect an article’s meaning or accuracy.
We may correct these issues without adding a formal correction notice, provided the changes do not alter the substance of the article.
Substantial Corrections
Substantial corrections involve factual errors or omissions that could materially affect a reader’s understanding of an article.
Examples may include an incorrect historical date, a misattributed quotation, an inaccurate description of an event, or an incorrect biblical reference that materially changes the meaning of the discussion.
When a substantial correction is made, we aim to add a clearly visible correction note to the article. Where appropriate, the note will explain what was corrected and include the date of the correction.
Clarifications and Updates
Not every change is a correction. Sometimes an article needs additional context, clearer wording, or an update because reliable new information has become available.
In these cases, we may revise the article to improve clarity or reflect relevant developments. Where a change materially affects the original meaning or addresses a significant misunderstanding, we aim to explain the change to readers.
Corrections to Biblical References and Interpretations
If we discover that an article contains an incorrect Bible reference, an inaccurate quotation, or a misrepresentation of a biblical passage, we will review the issue and make appropriate corrections where warranted.
Christian teachings can involve different interpretations across denominations and theological traditions. A disagreement over interpretation does not automatically constitute a factual error. However, we aim to correct demonstrably inaccurate quotations, references, attributions, or descriptions of what a source says.
How We Handle Corrections
When a potential error is identified through internal review or reader feedback, we aim to follow these steps:
- Review the concern. We examine the reported claim, passage, quotation, or other material in question.
- Check the evidence. Where appropriate, we consult credible sources, original materials, relevant biblical passages, or other supporting evidence.
- Determine the necessary action. We assess whether the issue requires a minor edit, a substantial correction, a clarification, or no change.
- Update the content. If an error is confirmed, we make the appropriate correction.
- Provide a correction note when warranted. For substantial errors, we aim to explain the correction and identify the date of the change.
The time required to review a report may depend on the complexity of the issue and the availability of reliable evidence.
How to Report an Error
We welcome readers who bring credible concerns about the accuracy of our published content to our attention.

We aim to review correction requests within a reasonable timeframe. We may contact you for additional information when necessary, although we cannot guarantee an individual response to every report.
Transparency in Corrections
We believe readers should be able to distinguish between ordinary editorial improvements and changes that materially affect the accuracy of published content.
We aim not to silently alter substantial factual errors without acknowledging the correction. However, we may remove or modify material without a public correction note when reasonably necessary to address privacy concerns, legal risks, safety issues, or other exceptional circumstances.
Where an article is withdrawn or substantially revised for significant reasons, we will consider whether an explanatory note is appropriate.
Corrections and Content Removal
A correction is not always the appropriate response to every concern. In some circumstances, we may need to remove content, restrict access, or review a copyright or privacy complaint separately.
Requests involving copyrighted material should be directed to our Copyright Policy. Questions about the general reliability or sourcing of our articles may also be considered under our Fact-Checking Policy.
