Today’s Bible Verse: Psalm 23:1
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
King James Version (KJV)
Meaning of Today’s Verse
David, who worked as a shepherd before he became king, uses a familiar picture to describe God’s care. A shepherd leads, feeds, protects, and stays close to the flock, and sheep depend entirely on that care. To say “I shall not want” does not mean every wish will be granted. It means that with the Lord as shepherd, nothing essential will be lacking. The verse is personal: “my shepherd.” It invites each believer to rest in a relationship with God who knows them and provides for them in every season.

Prayer for Today
Lord, You are my Shepherd. Thank You for leading me, providing for me, and staying near. Help me to trust Your care today and to be content in what You have given. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
