Pause for a moment before the day gathers speed. Bring God the decisions ahead, the questions still unsettled, and the hopes you are carrying. Let this prayerful pause make room for trust and thoughtful action.
Bible Verse for Today
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV): “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Reflection
Proverbs 3:5 invites wholehearted trust in God while warning against treating our own understanding as sufficient. It does not ask us to stop thinking, planning, or seeking wise counsel. Rather, it reminds us that our perspective is limited and that God deserves our confidence even when we cannot see the whole way ahead. The verse appears within instruction that calls the reader to remember God’s teaching and walk in faithfulness. For this morning, that may mean bringing a decision honestly to God, considering what is wise and loving, and resisting the urge to demand certainty before taking any step. Trust can be practiced quietly: through patience, prayer, openness to correction, and care for the people affected by our choices.
Morning Prayer
Gracious God, as this morning begins, I come to You before I have settled every question about the day. You know the work before me, the people I will meet, and the concerns I carry quietly. Teach me to trust You with my whole heart, not only with the parts of life that feel manageable. When my understanding is limited, keep me from treating uncertainty as proof that You are absent. Give me patience to seek wisdom, humility to listen, and courage to take the next faithful step.
Guard my words from sharpness and my choices from haste. Help me do my responsibilities with care, receive help without pride, and offer kindness without expecting recognition. Where plans change, steady my attention on what is good and true. Where I have caused hurt, make me willing to acknowledge it and pursue peace. Where someone is burdened, show me a fitting way to accompany them.
I place this day in Your hands, while remembering that I remain responsible for how I live it. Let Your teaching shape my judgment and Your love guide my conduct. Keep me near You through ordinary tasks and unexpected moments. I ask for wisdom and mercy, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
