TOPIC: Demons Are Real—Cast Them Out

Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional Message:

Many people today deny the existence of demons, claiming that they are merely products of imagination. However, this view is far from the truth. Demons are real, and the Bible makes it clear that Satan and his agents are actively working against humanity. 1 Peter 5:8 warns us, “…your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Jesus Himself acknowledged the reality of demons and cast them out regularly. Mark 16:17 reinforces this by stating that one of the first signs that will follow believers is the ability to cast out devils. Therefore, this command is for every Christian: You have the authority to cast out demons in the Name of Jesus.

For example, in Luke 13:12, we read about a woman in the synagogue who had been bent over due to a spirit of infirmity. Jesus called her forward and commanded the devil to release her. Immediately, she was restored to her normal state. The Bible clearly indicates that the devil caused her condition, and Jesus broke the power of the enemy over her life.

Moreover, Jesus didn’t only cast out demons during His time on earth; believers have continued to do the same in His Name throughout history. Personally, I have experienced the power of Jesus’ Name to cast out deaf and dumb spirits, witnessing people being instantly healed and restored. This power is available to all Christians who take their authority seriously.

The Devil’s Strategy:

Satan’s primary goal is to deceive people into believing he doesn’t exist. Once he accomplishes this, he can operate without resistance, wreaking havoc in their lives. However, the Bible reminds us that we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). It also instructs us to give the devil no place (Ephesians 4:27). While the devil is real, he becomes powerless when faced with a believer who walks in their God-given authority.

As a believer, you have absolute dominion over demons. Therefore, whenever they show up, cast them out in the Name of Jesus. Your authority over them is unshakable, and they have no power over your life.

Prayer:

Dear Father, thank You for the authority I have in the Name of Jesus to cast out demons and destroy their works. Thank You for the victory and dominion I have over all the power of the enemy. I walk in this authority today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Luke 13:10-13 – “Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise [herself] up. But when Jesus saw her, He called [her] to [Him] and said to her, ‘Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.’ And He laid [His] hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”
Mark 3:14 – “And He ordained twelve, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach.”
