Humility – A Pathway to Receiving From God

SCRIPTURE:
“For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” – Isaiah 57:15.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
To receive anything from God, we must maintain an attitude of humility and helplessness.

Seeds of Destiny for Today’s MESSAGE:

Pride is a major manifestation of the flesh and a significant hindrance to answered prayer. It blocks our ability to receive anything from God.

Beloved, to receive from God, you must adopt an attitude of humility and helplessness. God will never look towards the proud. Isaiah 66:2b says, “…but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.”

Approaching God with pride is like facing a closed door in the place of prayer.

There are many forms of pride today. Some are proud of their spirituality, while others boast of their humility. You may hear some people constantly talk about their humility, so much so that they become proud of it. This is a contradiction—a false humility.

God will always look toward the humble and the contrite heart. He turns away from the proud, those who arrogantly raise their shoulders or believe they have arrived. He avoids those who look down on others.

Therefore, pride is a significant barrier to a successful prayer life.

You must rid yourself of every form of sin and iniquity to gain access to God in prayer. Even if you don’t smoke, drink, or commit immorality, God may turn away if there is something in you that mirrors Lucifer, the father of pride.

Many people pray, saying, “O Lord, I need a life partner, a job, anointing, a car, or money,” but when God is about to answer their requests, He realizes that previous blessings have made them proud. Their heads have grown larger than their bodies. They no longer honor God, and of course, God does not answer those who try to take credit for His glory.

Refuse to be such a person.

Remember this: To receive anything from God, we must maintain an attitude of humility and helplessness.

ASSIGNMENTS:

• Do not allow pride to rob you of your inheritance in God.
• Always maintain an attitude of humility and helplessness before God.

PRAYER:
Father, rid my life of pride and arrogance. I receive the garment of humility and selflessness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
